FUN FACTS La Voz was created by a handful of young families inthe late 1970s. Because the law dictated that a co-op must be a minimum of 25 people, each farmer also registered his wife, to meet the quota. La Voz became certified organic in 1993, and today has at least 161 members, 61 of whom are women. (That there are 61 women members is a rarity in Guatemala.)
